Imaging for NAFLD and NASH Studies

BioTel Research provides expert imaging solutions for clinical trials researching liver therapies. As a leader in imaging based quantification of hepatic fat, we strengthen your trial with unparalleled experience and global operational support.

Quantitative Imaging Analysis for NAFLD and NASH

Our study teams provide quantitative imaging analyses for liver disorders such as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), with liver endpoint measurements including hepatic fat, stiffness and fibrosis.

Magnetic resonance imaging – proton density fat fraction (MRI-PDFF) provides a reliable assessment of fat across the entire liver.

  • Ran first multi-site, multi-vendor, multi-magnet-strength PDFF study (JMRI: Mashhood, et al 2013)
  • Assess hepatic proton density fat fraction using complex-based PDFF and magnitude-based PDFF
  • Deploy phantoms to ensure scans and fat fraction maps are accurate

Magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) measures liver tissue stiffness by combining MRI imaging with sound waves.

  • 13 MRE studies across 58 sites in 6 countries
  • Collaborate with Mayo Clinic for regulatory compliant solutions and scientific expertise
  • Software compatible with top three MR manufacturers
